| the following film i worked on will premiere at this year's Sundance Film Fest. Please keep your eyes peeled for this hilarious comedy, as it will probably pick up distribution.
FINISHING THE GAME U.S.A., 2006, 88 Minutes, color
Director: Justin Lin
Screenwriter: Josh Diamond, Justin Lin
Egos fly and collide as hard and high as the karate kicks in this scathingly smart swipe at racial stereotypes and movie-biz hypocrisy. Justin Lin returns to Sundance (Better Luck Tomorrow played at the 2002 Festival) with Finishing the Game, a wickedly conceived comedy spoof about the search for the "new Bruce Lee."
On July 20, 1973, Bruce Lee died suddenly at the age of 32, leaving behind an exciting 12 minutes of action footage intended for his own passion project, The Game of Death. Lee's unexpected demise came at the zenith of his popularity, and the public's intense hunger for another Bruce Lee movie spurs movie execs to try and complete the film by finding a replacement for its deceased star. Ambitious documentarians (funded by tobacco and oil companies) capture the search on film as they follow the prime candidates competing for the role: a volatile Vietnam vet, a starry-eyed doctor, a Caucasian-looking activist, a cursed TV actor, a traumatized refugee, and a Bruce Lee knockoff named Breeze Loo.
Lin pumps up the volume on '70s style and takes no prisoners as he makes massive fun of the dysfunctional process of filmmaking, fueled by greed, ignorance, and ambition. All the while he cleverly lands sucker punches of his own as he exposes the million-and-one faces of racism.— Shari Frilot

| talk about police brutality. cnn just released a story about 5 nypd officers who fired 50 rounds at a car carrying 3 unarmed men. why the officers fired is unclear. one officer alone fired 31 rounds.
wtf?
talk about lack of restraint and training. cnn reports none of the officers have ever been in a firefight, and i doubt they've trained for one. morons. THIRTY ONE rounds. that takes a minute or more because of reloading.
growing up we're taught the cops are the good guys. truth is, they're only partially so. and the part that's bad is quite bad.
they like to push the weak aorund. i hate bullies. |

| fri night we played LMU in round 2 of the wwpa tournament. we lost 5-4, but led most of the game until there was just a min or less on the clock.
what RIDICULOUSNESS is this??!! wow, it would have been so sweet to ruin LMU's season. haha! the next night we beat Redlands, for the first time in a decade, making us #1 in D3.
LMU is a D1 power and has made the last THREE ncaa final fours. we're not so tiny of a d3 program anymore are we...? i suppose we always were of a d1 caliber. we've got 2 players who were invited to the team usa tryouts; my belief one of them has a real shot at making team usa.
anyways. UCSD beat LMU in the wwpa finals, and advances to the final four.
navy. usc. ucsd. cal? ucla?
man, even just watching this game is so much fun.
